Day 2 Snorkel in the ocean and enjoy stunning mountain 360 view of Tewantin National Park

Basin Rock Pool, Bargara

10:00-12:00

Start a day with snorkeling around the place called Basin Rock Pool. It is a great spot for divers and snorkelers also. It is very safe and a great place to discover marine life.

Tips and tricks***

Mark well your landmark on your map, and once you reach the destination, you will see the sign for divers, this is your spot. Make sure to have your equipment before you reach the Basin Rock Pool. There are no shops, or rentals for snorkeling equipment around the area. They are all located in the city center so be well prepared. Also, make sure you have good reef shoes, as this rocky pool might have sharp and slippery stones.

Scenic drive surrounded by Poinciana trees and red soil sugarcane fields

12:00- 15:00

On your way to Noosa, there are places on your way that will take your breath away if you have never been to Queensland. For several weeks in spring and summer, the royal red flower Poinciana trees are opening their umbrellas and making this area magical. Poinciana tree is native to Madagascar and it has been naturalized around Queensland. Another interesting scene that you will see around is sugar cane fields on a fire red soil. I just couldn’t resist stopping for a moment to enjoy the view. Places where you might want to stop and take few pictures are all the way from Bundaberg and Woongarra, while in Doolbi, in The Fairway Golf club you can stop for a moment and go game or just enjoy their wonderful park and sugarcane fields just next to it.

Mount Tinbeerwah lookout

16:00-17:30

After your lunch break in Noosa, around Hasting street I would recommend, (if you'd like to know more about Noosa and what can you do there click here) where you can choose from myriad of restaurants and cuisines, you can prepare yourself to digest your lunch with a short hike that will take you to the lookout with a stunning view of Tewantin National Park.

Mt Tinbeerwah is located just 15 minutes from Noosa Heads in Tewantin National Park. This place perfectly suits the itinerary because from there you can enjoy the spectacular 360 degree view of sun setting within mountains and the ocean. What I love about Australia and about this particular place is that it is made accessible to everyone.

The first lookout point is only 130 m away from the beginning of the park and your parking, and it is accessible with wheelchair. There is also a fire tower, within just 300 m away that takes your breath away the moment you climb it.

If you feel like staying a bit longer there, you can also bring your picnic basket and enjoy the facilities that they have there.

How to get there

Mark Mount Tinbeerwah lookout on your map and you will easily find your way. park your car at the destination pinned in your map and start exploring the Mountain by foot.
